Friday was the last day of the business delegation trip in the shipbuilding and maritime industry to Japan, sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and organized by SBS – systems for business solutions, DW-ShipConsult and San-Ten Consulting.
In the past week, 7 companies from Germany (Georg Duncker GmbH & Co. KG, HeavyLift@Sea GmbH, Hilbig GmbH, Hoppe Marine GmbH, Light Structures GmbH, ProfiSeal GmbH, and trusteddocks.com GmbH) had the possibility to meet with Japanese counterparts of the industry to introduce their products and solutions as well as get to know each other and make new contacts. Following a Country Briefing on Sunday, a presentation and networking event was held on Monday at the Kaiun Club in Tokyo. Besides the presentations from the German companies, the audience could also listen to interesting talks from the relevant ministries (BMWK and MLIT from Japan) as well as the industry associations (VSM, VDMA from Germany and SAJ from Japan).
Tuesday had been filled with meetings with the Cooperative Association of Japan Shipbuilders (CAJS), Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK), as well as Nippon Yusen KK (NYK). On Wednesday, the delegation transferred to Imabari, where the German companies had the chance to introduce their products and services to Imabari Shipbuilding on Thursday morning, Japan’s biggest shipbuilding company. In the afternoon, the delegation received a wharf tour at Higaki Shipbuilding. On Friday, before leaving Japan and returning home in the afternoon, the delegation has once more the opportunity to present to representatives of Higaki Shipbuilding.
As the organizer in Japan, we would like to thank all companies, associations and organizations for their great support and cooperation in coming to the presentation event and welcoming the German delegation at their facilities!
